在量子計算中,VQE是被廣泛運用的一種最佳化算法;另一方面,在量子計算應用上,量子化學被視為最有機會取得突破性進展的領域之一。講者希望透過本次演講,協助各位量子課程學員理解VQE的原理,並接觸到量子計算的實際應用層面。
Abstract: One of the most promising applications of quantum computing is solving classically intractable chemistry problems. However, building a Fault-tolerant quantum computer will be a complex scientific challenge. As a result, developments that enable these problems to be tackled with fewer quantum resources should be considered very important. Hybrid quantum-classical algorithms are regarded as well-suited for execution on noisy intermediate-scale quantum (NISQ) devices by combining quantum computers with classical computers and are expected to be the first useful applications for quantum computing. In this talk, we introduce basic computational chemistry and the variational quantum eigensolver (VQE) and its application to solving electron structure problems.
