Stories from Medical Students Question Form
This form is for any questions you have for our guest medical students from Tufts School of Medicine!

Our event is focused on three med students recounting their experiences in undergrad leading up to med school as well as their experiences now as a med student now.

Here are the bios for our guests:
Abe Bayer:
My name is Abe, and I’m currently a 3rd year MD-PhD student at Tufts, having finished two years of medical school and starting my research this past year. I also went to Tufts for undergrad, and majored in biochemistry! I was involved in PHE, Hillel, TDC, and was the founder of KDSAP at Tufts. When I graduate medical school, I am leaning towards an internal medicine residency, potentially specializing in Cardiology or Heme/Onc. My research involves T-Cell biology and the role of T-Cells in heart disease and cancer. Outside of school I like running, skiing, and looking for new breweries in Cambridge/Somerville.

Charlotte Crist:
Hi! My name is Charlotte and I am a first year medical student at Tufts. I graduated in 2020 from Tufts undergrad with a biology major. I was the KDSAP community screening chair for 3 years! During college, some of my other extracurricular experiences included volunteering at Massachusetts General Hospital, being RA for two years, and doing a summer research internship at Maine Medical Center. I did not take any gap years. Currently, I am involved in research at MGH and I tutor at a nearby middle school. I am interested in potentially going into ophthalmology! My hobbies include basketball, yoga, and gardening.

Haley Perkins:
Haley Perkins graduated from Bowdoin College in 2018, where she majored in biochemistry and minored in art history. For two years prior to medical school, she worked in an immunobiology lab at Massachusetts General Hospital. At MGH, she worked as a clinical research coordinator on a Phase II trial studying the effects of the BCG vaccine on Type 1 diabetes. In her free time, she enjoys running, spinning, hiking, and spending time with her family on Sebago Lake in Maine. At the moment, her clinical interests include OB/GYN, emergency medicine, and general surgery.
