Option Two/Alternate Pathway Request

Option Two allows students to earn credits in a more personalized and independent manner. In addition, Option Two offers alternate paths to earn credit and meet or exceed the most current standards.

At TEECS, Option Two courses are offered at a cost to families. Permission and approval from the school administration and counselor are required.

Students have the opportunity to enroll in Option Two courses for the following:
-Recover credits from a previously failed course
-Obtain credits for a course not previously taken but needed to stay on track for graduation

-To advance to the next course(Math Only) or Independent Study for courses not offered at TEECS. Pending committee review/approval. Before submitting the request, please speak to Mrs.Denard, School Counselor.
Requests for this option must be submitted by April 15th of the school year. Students and families will be notified of a decision by April 30th. Courses for this option can be completed through Educere, an online program, or an accredited school/college. Option Two course are to be completed during the summer of each school year, unless it is a required course needed to stay on track for graduation.

***Please note that Algebra 1 (Except Retake & Transfer) is a full-year course and can not be taken in another school for original credit purposes unless the student is a transfer student.

The final grade will be determined by the average of the proficiency exam grade and updated recovery grade which must be greater than 65% for passing.
