Tottenham's Udoji, who signed an ultra-long-term contract in 2030
Destiny Udoji (21, Tottenham Hotspur) expressed his feelings about signing a new contract.

Tottenham Hotspur officially announced on the club's website on the 13th (Korean time), "Udoji has signed a new contract that will run until the summer of 2030."

In this regard, European transfer market expert Fabricio Romano explained, "Udozi's basic contract has been extended until June 2029, and an option for a one-year extension is included."

Udoji is a side defender who can play both fullback and wingback. In the 2021-22 season, he showed off his offensive talent with 5 goals and 3 assists in 35 Italian Serie A games for Udinese, putting him on the radar of big clubs. Instead of paying a low transfer fee of 15 million pounds (about 25 billion won), Tottenham sent the player to Udinese on a one-season loan.

Udoji joined Tottenham this summer and scored 1 goal and 2 assists in 14 Premier League games. He was a perfect fit for coach Enze Po Steko Glu's 'attacking football', and he scored for the first time in the last game against Newcastle United.

His existing contract ran until June 2027, and this renewal extended it for another three years. If the option is activated, he will be in charge of Tottenham for nearly 7 years, until 2030.

Tottenham later released an interview with Udoji. Udoji said, "I'm really happy. It's a great joy for me to come to this club and it's great to have this opportunity. From the first day I came here, the players, coaches and the whole club welcomed me and made me feel at home. “Everyone at the club respects me and the players, everyone,” he said.

He continued: “The Premier League is a very tough, physical league and intense. The staff are doing a great job every day and it shows on the pitch. It is the most difficult league where you have to prepare mentally and physically, but it is a good experience. “I’m learning new things every day and working hard with great players,” he added.
