UNO TRPP 2021 Teacher Application
Complete the information below to apply to conduct mentor-guided summer research as part of the 2021Teacher-Researcher Partnership Program (TRPP) at the University of Nebraska at Omaha (UNO).

The deadline to submit an application is February 26, 2021.

Applications will be reviewed following the Feb. 26 deadline, and candidates will be notified regarding selection status thereafter.

Personal Statement *
Your personal statement should include the following: a) Statement of Interest: Explain your interest in research within the context of science and/or science education, and why you wish to participate in the TRPP,  b) Expected Impact: Describe the impact you hope/expect the TRPP experience will have on your classroom/teaching (i.e. how you would translate or incorporate your TRPP experience during the academic year).  
Indicate your top 4 areas of interest in conducting research, with "1" being your most preferred/top choice, "2" being your second choice, and so on.
If accepted, these rankings will be used to assist with matching you with a research mentor/project. Indicate ONLY 1 response per column and complete all 4 preferences for full consideration (some rows will be left blank).

Clicking below indicates that you understand and, if selected, can meet the requirements of the TRPP, including but not limited to: attending mandatory orientation sessions (June 1, 2021), attending weekly journal club meetings (Wednesdays at 1:00 PM June 1 - July 15), completing a minimum of 80 hours of research in cooperation with your faculty mentor or mentors over the 6-week research period, participating in periodic focus groups (wks 1 & 6), interviews, surveys, etc., formally presenting research at the annual TRPP Research Symposium (posters will be due wk 6), and engaging with your mentor(s) post-project to benefit your K-12 students. You also acknowledge that, while every effort will be made to match teachers and mentors based on mutual interests, your indication of a particular area of interest and/or faculty member herein does not necessarily guarantee placement with a specific mentor/project.
