COURSE CONTENT

In this course, participants will learn:

➡️ The key differences between qualitative and quantitative studies.

➡️ Main data collection methods used in qualitative studies and when to use each.

➡️ How to formulate purpose statement and study rationale for qualitative studies.

➡️ How to formulate study objectives and research questions for qualitative studies

➡️ How to formulate interview questions and develop interview guides

➡️How to make decisions on study participants & sample size, and

➡️How to decide which data collection methods to use.

 In this course, Dr. Catherine will also introduce participants to the various concepts and tools that she innovated, which have greatly facilitated her team in designing high-quality qualitative studies and delivering high-quality deliverables for qualitative studies. 

 Such concepts include:

➡️Starting with the end in mind: that takes the study report structure and content into great consideration during designing the various components of qualitative studies above. This approach makes report writing for qualitative studies very easy and straight forward. 

➡️The use of a Master Interview Guide: An approach that streamlines development of interview guides in qualitative studies with multiple respondent categories making data management and report writing very effective and efficient.
