Mental Health Committee 2023-24

APPLICATIONS ARE ONLY REMAINING OPEN FOR STUDENTS FROM THE EASTERN SHORE.

Hello! Thank you for your interest in being on the Maryland Association of Student Councils Mental Health Committee. The MASC Mental Health Affairs Coordinators and Chairs of the committee, Andrew and Emily, are so excited to potentially work with you next year on the amazing projects that we are planning.

**MASC SCHOOL MEMBERSHIP IS NOT REQUIRED TO JOIN**

This year, we as a committee will operate as a whole group, as well as in subcommittees. Below you will answer questions about your passion for advocacy regarding mental health. Please answer the questions as well as complete a prompt for the subcommittee that you are applying to.

Breakdown of mental health committee (yearly goals, time commitments, etc)

The subcommittees work to strengthen your personal interests and skills in a more specific way.

Andrew and Emily developed four subcommittees.

Media Wellness Subcommittee: The Media Wellness Committee is responsible for developing ideas for wellness/mental health posts on the MASC Instagram page. The Media Wellness Committee, after approval of ideas at monthly committee meetings, is also responsible for filling out all inclusive forms about the post for the social media managers to create the graphics. This committee is perfect for those that are great at generating ideas and having others put it into action! Your concepts will be shared onto the MASC Instagram and you’ll be helping develop content ideas!!

Resource Analysis Subcommittee: The Resource Analysis committee is responsible for the reviewing of resources and curriculums sent to the Maryland Association of Student Councils. This committee is given the opportunity to evaluate the quality of resources and what they would bring to Maryland students; these informational resources will also be utilized for the whole committee project, the Student Mental Health First Aid Kit. This committee is great for those who are very invested in mental health awareness and seek to research the effects, support systems, etc. and get a glimpse of mental health support county all the way to nationwide!!
