2024 Ken Harman Memorial Scholarship
The Easton Redding United Soccer Club recognizes the commitment, perseverance and hard work that our student athletes go through on their journey to high school graduation. We are pleased to offer this annual monetary scholarship of $500 to two players who have exemplified qualities such as leadership, service to the community, and academic achievement accompanied with a desire to be a life-long learner. Please take a moment to review these criteria and apply no later than April 30th.

Eligibility Criteria:  
     * Current Joel Barlow High School Senior
     * Participation in the ERU soccer program for a minimum of three seasons    
     * Participation in JBHS Varsity Soccer (mandatory participation senior year)      
     * Enrollment in a full-time undergraduate course of study in an accredited two or four year technical school, college or university
 
Selection Criteria
      * Number of years playing for ERU and JBHS
      * Extra-curricular activities related to ERU: mentoring, coaching , refereeing and good sportsmanship
      * Academic achievement: minimum 3.0 GPA or higher
      * 250-500 word essay: How has soccer impacted your life?

Scholarship Awards
     * Award amount: $500
     * Two scholarships awarded per year - one to a senior boy and one to a senior girl**
     * Applications must be submitted on or before April 30th
     * Selections will be made by ERU board members, whose decisions are final
     * Monies may be used for tuition, fees, books, supplies or room and board if living on campus
 
** If there is not a sufficient number of applicants who meet the Eligibility Criteria, one or both of the scholarship awards will be held over and awarded in addition to the awards the following year.

Application closes April 30, 2024. Awards will be presented at the JBHS Spring Awards Ceremony.
