Good attendance is critical for student success at CCHS. All absences will be coded unexcused unless this form or appropriate documentation is submitted. Written excuse notes and documentation submitted beyond two school days will be subject to Principal approval.  

For high school students, attendance is recorded by period. In order to be considered in attendance, a student must be present for the entire period.  If you are absent for more than half the period, you are considered absent.

Students who check in late or check out early (more than halfway through a period) will be marked tardy for the period.

Students who check-in or check out early (less than halfway through a period) will be marked absent for that period.

Note: Four tardies equal an absence.

At a high school level, students are given 13 days to be absent, per class, per semester. Students who exceed 13 absences run the risk of losing credit for their course(s). In this event, CCS Appeals Committee reviews the circumstances surrounding the absences and determines the action taken.
