The Family & Youth Casting Call (FYCC) is an annual FREE event hosted by the Department of Energy & Environment (DOEE) and features fishing instruction, equipment, and bait as well as fun and informative education activities for the District's youth and their family members.
This year's event will be held on **Saturday, June 1, 2019 from 10:30 AM - 3:30 PM** at Anacostia Park outside of the Aquatic Resources Education Center (1900 Anacostia Drive SE;
https://goo.gl/maps/esGjQdBEBDN2). More than 500 individuals attend each year and we need angling enthusiasts and volunteers like you to help the event run smoothly!
Volunteers are needed to assist with providing equipment and safety overviews, tying knots and baiting hooks, removing and releasing hooked fish, and repairing equipment. You are asked to arrive at 10:00 AM to receive an overview of the day. Water will be provided throughout the event and a complimentary lunch will be provided to full day volunteers only.
To register as a volunteer: please enter your email address and complete this brief form below. You will receive a copy of your responses immediately following submission and will be contacted by a DOEE AREC staff person with additional details. Please provide an email address to an account you check routinely as this will be our primary mode of communication leading up to the event on 06/01!
Thank you in advance for donating your time to ensure that this fishing experience is a fun, informative, and memorable one!
Best,
