Cambridge HEART Program - testimony & public comments needed for June 7 City Council meeting!
The Cambridge HEART (Holistic Emergency Alternative Response Team) Program is a proposal created by The Black Response as an alternative to calling the Police. This proposal has been created to ensure the city adequately fulfills Policy Order 114, the request to create an alternative public safety response team. In order to move forward with the Cambridge HEART Program proposal, the Cambridge City Council MUST pass Policy 114 in the next few weeks. This week Cambridge Residents are requested to attend, testify and submit public comments to the Cambridge City Council meeting on Monday June 7th. To support this effort, The Black Response will be hosting education events up to June 7th and SURJ Boston will be hosting 2-3 public education / testimony & public comment writing events this week organized by a collaboration of Prison Ab & Cambridge BG folks.
