Thanks for your interest in joining an Affordable Learning PA Working Group. Working Groups typically meet once a month, and are charged with leading program activities in their respective areas and contributing their expertise toward shared projects, with guidance from the Steering Committee and support from program staff.

Your participation in ALPA will enable us to continue the important work we have accomplished to promote and advocate for textbook affordability and open education in Pennsylvania. Before you continue, please review the ALPA Governance Document that identifies the roles and responsibilities of these positions.

ALPA Working Groups
Communities of Practice - develops and leads projects designed to create Communities of Practice that support member interests and engage librarians, faculty, instructional designers and others in areas of interest related to the development of OER, open pedagogy practices, course markings and other issues of interest to the membership.

Education & Training - leads and coordinates educational programming and content for librarians, faculty and other stakeholders in the higher education community about OER and textbook affordability.

Advocacy & Outreach - leads in sharing information and fostering community around affordable learning, OER, and the ALPA program.

Communications - leads in the development and maintenance of communication vehicles to promote the work of ALPA, to include the website, newsletters and social media.

Annual Summit - leads in the planning and execution of ALPA’s annual summit event, to include identifying when, where and how the summit will take place, as well as organizing and coordinating the program.
