Participation Application for Higane-E Service

Dear IBC Friends,

"When someone you love becomes a memory, the memory becomes a treasure." - Unknown

In Buddhism, the spring and autumn equinoxes, or "Higan" in Japanese, are times for remembering the beloved people who have made precious contributions to our lives.

On Saturday, March 16th, IBC will mark "Higan" with a special service and Dharma circle discussion to memorialize those special people. To participate, please share the posthumous names or actual names of two special people who are no longer with us but to whom you are forever grateful. To commemorate them we'll read their names during the dedication of merit at the Higan service.

We'll also have a Dharma circle discussion after the service, where we ask that you share your memories of  one of those two people to honor her/his life. Also, if you can, please bring or show a photo or memento of her/him to share with us all.

To participate online via Zoom or in person at the Buddha hall on the 4th floor at the Fumon Media Center in Tokyo, please send us the names of the two precious people you'd like to commemorate, and then join us on Saturday, March 16th.

If you would like to join us, please fill out the form below by March 10th.

If you wouldl like to join via zoom, we will send zoom URL to your e-mail address.
