Application for Late Arrival and Early Release
Late Arrival or Early Release is a special privilege for juniors and seniors with at least five credits for the year and who have an opening in their schedule.  Students must apply through this form.

Student schedules will not be changed to accommodate Late Arrival or Early Release privileges. Late Arrival and Early Release privilege is by parental permission only. It is the responsibility of the student and parent/guardian to ensure athletic eligibility and credit status prior to applying for Late Arrival or Early Release.

Eligible students must submit this application and be granted approval before starting Late Arrival or Early Release.  Approval will be sent via email from Steele Administration and the student's schedule will be changed to reflect the Late Arrival or Early Release.

In order to apply for and maintain their Late Arrival or Early Release privilege, students must be on target to graduate, display consistent attendance (this includes tardies to school), remain in good academic standing (C- or better), and abide by the Marion L. Steele Student Code of Conduct (this includes detentions earned from tardies).

The following guidelines must be adhered to by all students who are participating in Late Arrival.
1. Students must enter via cafetorium doors between 10:30 - 10:40 am.  Upon arrival students will report promptly to class.  Doors lock promptly at 10:40.  Anyone who arrives tardy must sign in at the front desk.

2. On certain days, due to different schedules, a student may be expected to report to class at a different time.

3. Students with Late Arrival must understand that parking may be difficult to find since the majority of students are already in school. However, this does not give any Late Arrival student permission to park outside the designated student parking areas.  Disciplinary action will be taken for parking violations.

4. A student who has Late Arrival is subject to tardy procedures as outlined in the Marion L. Steele Student Handbook.

5. Late Arrival is a privilege and may be revoked at any time by school administration.

The following guidelines must be adhered to by all students who are participating in Early Release.
1. Students granted Early Release will be expected to sign out correctly at the front desk before exiting the main doors immediately.

2. Students must have access to transportation and not loiter in the building or outside of school. Loitering is grounds for having this privilege revoked.

3. Early Release is a privilege and may be revoked at any time by school administration.
