In this 60-minute workshop, Dyllen will break down the college admissions scoring method used by top-ranked universities and share practical strategies to craft an excellent college essay. She will explain what admissions officers are looking for in college essays and walk you through a step-by-step method proven to reduce stress, increase confidence, and guide you on a journey toward self-discovery. With these strategies, you will be able to complete the college application process with more ease, fun, and confidence!

Dyllen Nellis is a college application consultant and undergraduate at Stanford University. She empowers students to discover their sense of self and effectively communicate their personal values, experiences, and potential in well-crafted college essays. Dyllen offers a range of services/resources including college essay editing, live consulting, educational videos, and most valuable: an award-winning comprehensive online course to craft a successful college essay. She aims to unlock a future of possibilities for students of all socio-economic backgrounds.

What is Girl Genius?
Girl Genius is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit created by aspiring girls in STEAM which provides a platform for girls to learn about accomplished women in STEAM, showcase their projects, as well as connect with girls nationwide.  Since 2018, our initiative seeks to ensure females (non-binary and trans-inclusive) and people of color are given a voice through our three mediums: magazine issues, blog posts, and YouTube videos.

Logistics:
Girl Genius is holding free virtual workshops and panels by female change-makers worldwide. One hour before the workshop, attendees with be emailed the meeting information. Individuals who have not signed up for the respective workshop or panel will not be able to attend the virtual event.
