StEER is currently activating our VAST to initiate a PVRR for the tornado outbreak that initiated yesterday in Alabama and other parts of the southeast United States. As information is compiled we will make further decisions regarding whether to activate a FAST to collect data on-site. As CDC still recommends suspending all non-essential travel, it is our preference to have those who are in the immediate vicinity (driving distance from affected locations) collect such data, if they feel safe doing so and if the PVRR suggests this event warrants StEER to elevate the response level.
