Transforming Health Care through Self-Care: Agency and Power in SRHR
When made accessible and affordable, self-care interventions in sexual and reproductive health have transformative potential to increase individuals’ autonomy regarding their care, strengthen countries’ health systems, and ultimately pave the way toward universal health coverage. Novel technologies, along with upcoming WHO Guideline on Self-Care, provide an opportunity to refocus attention on this important approach. This session will spotlight the power of self-care in positioning individuals as active agents in their own health.
