The Battery Placement audition consists of 2 parts.
1) Snare Drum Etude (May be performed on a practice pad)
https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1yC_ke7GprxwSl6S9PBsuahXArRKJwfN_?usp=sharingPlease record a video of you playing the attached snare drum etude while marking time with a metronome. Your full body should be visible to watch marching technique and to see body posture while playing, and your hands need to be visible to watch playing technique. I recommend using a snare drum stand and a practice pad, if possible, to help with recording.
2) Marching Technique
Please record a video doing a "figure 8" marching drill. The "figure 8" movement is as follows: Mark time 8 counts, forward march 8, crab march left 8, backwards march 8, crab march right 8, forward march 8, crab march right 8, backwards march 8, crab march left 8, forward march 8, and place. Your full body should be visible to watch marching technique and body posture. The video should be taken from the front. Please use a metronome to keep a steady tempo. I recommend using a driveway or a parking lot so you have a flat surface to march on. I have included some "basics" videos for those that have not marched before or if you want to freshen up on technique. There are other resources if you look on Youtube, but these seem to simply explain the techniques used.
