Session 1: Whatโs in a grade?
In this Session 1, participants will investigate the role and value of grades in students' learning processes and experiences and examine ways in which grading practices can exacerbate inequities. Participants will also begin to explore "alternative" grading strategies and related research on student learning.
Session 2: What approaches can I use for equitable grading?
In Session 2, participants will collaboratively compare and contrast equity-minded grading frameworks, including Grading for Equity and Contract Grading, and identify an opportunity to adjust a method of assessment in their teaching contexts.
Session 3: How can I apply equitable grading strategies in my teaching practice?
In Session 3, participants will build on previous conversations in reflecting on equitable grading practices and collaboratively workshopping and developing strategies to implement in their teaching contexts.
