Bus Transportation Opt-Out
Dear New Albany Families,

As we continue to refine our plans for back to school, we are seeking input from families on your intention to utilize school transportation, for those students eligible to ride the bus, during the FIRST SEMESTER (September 8, 2020 - January 15, 2021).

Transportation eligibility as defined by Board of Education policy is as follows:

ALL Students in Grades Kindergarten through fifth (attending school in person; OPTION 1) are eligible for transportation.

Students in Grades 6-12 (attending school in person; OPTION 1)  are eligible if they reside outside the 2-mile radius of the bus depot (front door of Intermediate Building) and do not have a parking pass issued for the first semester.

At this time, The Board of Education has resolved to open schools on September 8, 2020 in the Hybrid model with 25-50% of students attending in person on alternating days as determined by the student's assignment to the Maroon or Gold student group. These students will have access to bus transportation on their designated in-school days. Students will be notified of their assigned hybrid placement (Maroon or Gold) by next week.

Should health conditions permit a return to school Full-time, Five days per Week (ALL IN), eligible students (as defined above) will have access to bus transportation every day school is in session.

Students must wear a mask while utilizing school transportation, follow social distancing and remain in their assigned seats. Families must commit to performing a daily health assessment (temperature, symptoms, etc.)of their child(ren) every morning before leaving for the bus stop. Buses will be sanitized between HS/MS routes and Elementary routes and at the end of the day.

Other changes to the school day and transportation are possible and remain dependent upon guidance from the CDC, Ohio Department of Health,  and local health departments. These changes may occur with little notice to families. Please opt-in to school communications for the 2020-21 school year to permit notifications to be made in an efficient and timely manner.
