The Process
We see this as a multi-step process:
1. Clearing the land of trees and foliage.
2. Preparing the land for chert - adding rock, removing roots and stumps, adding culverts, removing trees that are in or close to the chert zone, removing rotting trees, doing something with the cut trees and foliage so that they are gathered and moved into a location that makes sense, etc. - as warranted for proper preparation.
3. Placing the chert and any other work needed after the chert has hardened (leveling, adding a layer of gravel, etc.) Please include a description of how you lay the chert and how you will determine that the chert has hardened sufficiently to move forward with the final steps. Also comment on whether you think adding gravel is optional or essential and why?
4. Moving the RV onto the chert once it has hardened (the RV Trailer is a fifth wheel and requires a truck with a special setup in the back of it. Although sometimes the equipment used to clear the land can also be used to move an RV).
We would prefer to hire someone who can do all four steps, but will definitely consider hiring multiple service providers if necessary to get the job done well by qualified experienced people.
