Software Mentor - Build Together
Hi there!

The top topic from the Software Mentor reader survey was "How to write good code" and I've been thinking about how to do this.

I realized that code reviews would be the best way - if only we could get our hands on some code...

Enter the "Build Together" project. The idea for "Build Together" is an open source project built by readers of Software Mentor.

We might build the Software Mentor website or some other product that the community might find useful. "What" we build isn't nearly as important as "how" we build. A small group of readers would collaborate and help build features. Myself (and possibly a few friends of mine!) will give code review feedback, and with permission from the contributor, do a write up for the greater community.

In this way, contributors get hands on experience with a project. Readers can learn how to write better code from real code review examples. And I accomplish my goal of teaching "how to write good code".

In theory, it's a win-win-win :D
