Register for the Planning for Coastal Hazards and Climate Change: A Plan Evaluation Workshop Pilot hosted by NDPTC at the Pacific Risk Management Ohana (PRiMO) Conference on April 3rd from 1pm - 5pm HST. This pilot workshop complements NDPTC's Planning for Coastal Hazards course, currently in development. The workshop will provide participants with an overview of planning principles to guide coastal hazards and adaptation planning, increase understanding of methods to evaluate the quality of plans, and present a summary of current plan evaluation research in island jurisdictions. Exercises will provide participants with hands-on experience with evaluating coastal management and hazard mitigation plans and include opportunity for group discussion on plan evaluation methods and adaptation planning across islands. The target audience includes planning practitioners and coastal stakeholders interested in hazards and coastal adaptation planning. This includes hazard mitigation planners, urban planners, climate change specialists, coastal managers, government officials, landowners and developers, as well as planning researchers and academia.
