During our 3 day retreat, participants will learn how to meditate in a peaceful environment in the middle of nature with the guidance of our teaching monks.
The meditation technique that you will learn is called The Middle Way technique, which is a practice for meditators of all levels of experience.
This technique and the overall environment of Pa Pae places a large emphasis on comfort, which, we believe, is the foundation necessary to experience true inner peace.
If you wish to learn how to meditate with this method and even practice before your arrival, you can do so by listening to
our instructional audio and guided meditations. For the first evening and first full day of the retreat, we ask participants to remain silent, allowing your mind time to slow down and become peaceful.
During this period, you may ask questions to the teaching monks, but we ask that you remain silent outside of the sessions.
After the first day and a half is over, you may begin to talk with and get to know your fellow participants.
However, we always ask that you remain mindful with the subject, volume and frequency of your conversations. When you live in a community (especially a spiritual one), it is important to always remain considerate of those around you.
If you wish to remain silent throughout the entire retreat, we provide a "Silent Badge" that you are welcome to wear.
We also have plenty of space for you to spread out and find your own quiet corner.
