Completing this form does not guarantee you will present at the summit. We typically have around 20-30 presenters. The summit will take place February 22 & 23, 2025. Submission deadline is August 4, 2024 and we will contact you by the end of August to let you know if you were selected. If selected, your recorded presentation and handouts need to be submitted to us by November 15, 2024.

Equity & Access - Our students come with different backgrounds; socioeconomic status, differences in cognitive ability, race, home lives, etc. All the different areas where our students are different, oftentimes mathematics seems like it's splitting our kids and making them not feel included. Sessions for this area are ones that help educators be reflective upon their practice as to whether or not the math classroom is including all students or excluding groups of students.

Understanding - Building our own understanding of the mathematics, both procedural and conceptual, is key to being able to help build those understandings for students. Sessions in this area will help educators understand not only WHAT we are doing but WHY.

Observing - Assessing is typically what we do to see what students know or don’t know, but observing students can give us more valuable info about student’s understandings and misunderstandings so that we can make instructional decisions. Sessions in this area are focused on helping teachers learn how to observe students’ thinking and then use that to make instructional decisions.

Connecting - Educators need to see how content is connected within their grade level and how it connects to grades above and below them. Too often mathematics is seen as isolated concepts. Sessions in this area will help educators see that math content is interwoven so that they can help their students see the connections.

Experiencing - Kids need to experience math, not just be taught lessons about it. The best way to build math understanding is to experience math. Sessions in this area focus on what an instructional practice or research actually looks like in the classroom. How do educators take the information and implement it in a way that allows kids to dig into mathematics?
