We are so excited about our first Church Retreat in a long time! The weekend will provide a chance to bond with fellow church family members outside of our usual worship context. We will be able to breathe the fresh air, enjoy the sunflowers, and dip our toes in the lake at Broken Arrow Ranch.
Our guest speaker for the weekend is Greg Creek, from Kansas City. His last pastoral post was as Youth and Family Life Pastor for the Whole Life Church in Orlando, Florida (formerly Florida Hospital, SDA). We are excited to have him and his wife, Gina, and their son Gideon join us for the weekend.
As the summer camp season has ended, the camp equipment will be stored away, and the pool winterized. So our group will mainly have access to the property as hikers, joggers, walkers, or bikers if folks bring their own mountain bikes! The terrain is not good for road bikes. There is space to pull personal kayaks into the lake, and that is allowed as long as life jackets are also around. Other personal watercraft is also fine, as long as Paulina and Whitni are offered rides... haha! But seriously.
Saturday night will be silly time, as we combine our comedic skills to put on a talent show featuring unexpected dazzling performances and goofy skits. Please see Laci Chavez or Whitni Carlson to sign up!
