TIFF Next Wave is now accepting entries for Battle of the Scores!

BATTLE OF THE SCORES challenges bands to create an original score for a silent short film.

This year's competition will take place online. The short films with their accompanying musical scores will be presented on TIFF's social channels during the TIFF Next Wave Film Festival, February 12-15, 2021. There will be audience choice prizes for BEST SCORE and BEST FILM.

Bands/artists that are selected for the competition will have 3 weeks to compose and record an original musical score to accompany a 2-3 minute silent short film. Artists will be asked to submit their completed recordings before the event.

Selected bands/artists will be notified by Wednesday, January 20, 2021, at which time they will receive an official invitation and an online link to the short film they will be scoring. Battle of Scores is open to musical acts comprising between one and 10 members, all of whom are residents of Canada. The majority of band members must be between the ages of 14 and 25.
