Youth Diversion Training and Implicit Racial Bias Conversation Circles
Restorative Justice Community Action (RJCA) will be leading a four-part training session as part of the Youth Restorative Justice program. You are invited to participate in this FREE training which will prepare you to participate as a community member in youth conferences facilitated by RJCA.
The Restorative Justice Youth Diversion Program engages juveniles who have committed first-time, low-level offenses in a restorative process that helps them become aware of the impact of crime on communities and gives them an opportunity to repair harm.
With the current climate around racial inequity in our society, it is important to increase the civic dialogue and empower community to enact positive change. The circle process provides a forum for meaningful dialogue, rooted in common values and honoring each other’s voices. The Implicit Racial Bias Circle series will allow for the community to deepen connection and conversation around this important topic. Skilled circle keepers will guide us as we explore race and reflect on the root causes of our biases.
