PURPOSE:Caregivers are the unsung heroes of family care. Whether a partner, sibling, child, or friend, we
understand the day-to-day challenges this responsibility requires. Caregivers give time,
patience and economic resources to ensure their loved ones are well cared for during a
vulnerable stage of life. The Pilot Club of Darlington Annual Caregiver Award recognizes such
challenges and helps financially support caregivers who are giving above and beyond to provide
for their loved ones.
NOMINATIONS:
To celebrate the commitment and sacrifice the caregiver has made, the Pilot Club of Darlington
Annual Caregiver Award is open for nominations to recognize and award a deserving caregiver
with an award and a cash prize of $500. Such monetary award will be provided by the Pilot
Club of Darlington.
Nominees must be a resident of Darlington County and have served as an unpaid caregiver for
another person within the last year. Responsibilities of this caregiver must include at least one
of the following duties: personal care, housekeeping, transportation, and general health of
their care recipients.

DEADLINE FOR NOMINATIONS:
The deadline to submit nominations is August 1, 2024 at 11:59 pm.
AWARD DETERMINATION:
The Caregiver Award Committee of the Pilot Club of Darlington will be responsible for selecting
the winner. The committee will consist of the Caregiver Award Committee Chair (named by the
President of the Pilot Club of Darlington), the Immediate Past President of the Pilot Club of
Darlington, and the current President of the Pilot Club of Darlington.
AWARD PRESENTATION:
The winner will be announced at the South Carolina Sweet Potato Festival on October 12, 2024.
