Sign up for an in-Person Professional Development Workshop for French teachers brought to you by the Cultural Services of the Embassy of France in collaboration with Centre de liaison de l'enseignement et des médias d'information
Objectif: In this workshop, starting from concrete examples, participants will discover the themes comprising sports journalism, in terms of journalistic techniques and treatment of media events. Participants will analyze and perform an interview and a sports commentary, while becoming capable of identifying and using these exercises' specificities. Finally, participants will identify the role of the media’s image in sports news and propose examples of pedagogical activities online with the Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
By the end of this workshop, participants will be able to identify the specific genres of sports journalism (interview and commentary) and know how to read a media image in the domain of sports. Furthermore, participants will be able to share this newfound knowledge through discussed pedagogical activities.
