Transportation Release Document

Competing athletes are highly encouraged and expected to stay for the entire meet. If a student-athlete has family plans that are communicated by a parent PRIOR TO THE MEET, the athlete will be encouraged to stay at least until the 400m. dash. After the 400m. dash (which is the halfway point of every meet) the student-athlete will be dismissed with his/her parents ONLY. If this is not feasible for the family, the athlete may need to be scratched from this particular meet.

Again, If an athlete must leave prior to the end of competition and will not be riding back with the team, it is most ideal if this communication can be shared prior to the meet to avoid distractions during competition.

Best Practice would be to address any conflicts by the end of practice on Monday each week. Once the meet entries are locked (usually 24 hours prior to competition), we can not swap another student-athlete to compete in his/her place. Failure to communicate ahead of time can be detrimental to the team and also takes an opportunity away from another student-athlete that could have competed in his/her place.

If a student-athlete leaves early, he/she and the parent/guardian must check-out with their event coach and/or Head Coach. However, it is still best practice and HIGHLY ENCOURAGED for the student-athlete to stay for the duration of the competition.

In the event that you and/or your student-athlete must leave the meet early, please sign him out below.
