Winneshiek, Turkey River, and Upper Iowa River Pheasants Forever are hosting the 1st Annual Long Tail Hunt. The goal of this competition is to promote upland conservation and celebrate high Pheasant numbers.

The contest will be two-person teams ($30 entry fee that includes your meal). Each team will submit two whole Pheasants for measuring. The combined length of the two tails from each team will be used to determine the winner of longest tail. Feathers must be connected to the bird. No pen raised birds will be accepted. Birds must be harvested the day of the competition. All state and federal laws must be followed. 1st place will receive $400, 2nd place $300, and 3rd place $200.

In addition, all attendees will be entered to win a 12 gauge CZ-USA Drake O/U Shotgun (NO PURCHASE NECESSARY). Drawing will be held after check-ins. Must be present to win. 

All youth participants will be receive a prize. 

Check-in will start at 2pm at The Place in Protivin. Birds will be measured from 2pm to 3pm.
