This is a team competition with a minimum of 4 players required in each team.

Details are as follows:

The competition starts week 2 of term 3 (Week of 24th July) with games being played weekly until week 10 (Week of 21st September 2023)

Games are played from 4pm to 5.30pm each week.
Year 9 and 10 Boys games are played on Tuesday.
Year 9 and 10 Girls games are played on Thursday.

VENUE 

Active Badminton Centre, 46 Apollo Drive, Mairangi Bay 

REQUIRED UNIFORM
AJHS PE shirt and shorts. Players need indoor sports shoes and their own rackets.  

TRAINING:
Teams will have one training session per week. 

We are currently waiting on details of the training day and time from the coaches. Further information will be provided once this is confirmed. Training will start week 1 of term 2.

TRIALS:
Monday 19th June 2023 3.30pm - 5pm
Students are required to attend the trial to enable us to grade teams. 
**Subject to sufficient numbers all students that register for the term 3 badminton competition will be placed in a team. If we do not get sufficient numbers then a full refund of fees will be made.

TRANSPORT:
It is the responsibility of parent/caregivers to either transport their child to the games and trainings each week or to arrange for another parent/caregiver to transport them. The school does not provide transport for this competition.

REGISTRATION FEE :

$90.00 per student (This includes the team registration fee and coaching for 8 weeks)

COMPULSORY ADMINISTRATION FEE:

$25.00 (One payment of $25.00 will be charged regardless of the number of sports played)
Please note that once teams are confirmed, there will be no refund of the registration or administration fee unless an approved medical certificate is supplied or if we do not have sufficient numbers.

For this length of time and at this level of competition each school team requires a manager.
The Managers are required to organise the team, ensuring all players and parents/caregivers are aware of game times and trainings. The Manager is required to attend the games each week and oversee the team at the game.
All team communication for badminton will be via the TeamReach app. The code and details of how to join will be emailed out once teams are confirmed.

Without parent volunteers it is impossible for teams to participate in the competition so if you are available to assist with either role please tick the appropriate box on the form.

To ensure your child is registered for the North Harbour Secondary School (Year 9 and 10) Badminton Competition for 2023, please complete the following form and submit by 9am Monday the 19th June 2023.

Please also ensure that the deposit of $45.00 and Sports Administration fee of $25.00 are paid by 9am Monday the 19th June 2023 with the remaining $45.00 due by Monday the 17th of July 2023.

Payment can also be made by cash, eftpos or credit card at student accounts.
