Hello,

I am currently in my final year of university studying civil and environmental engineering.
For my final year project I have decided to research the design of prefabricated bamboo housing for use in post-earthquake scenarios within Indonesia. I am hoping that through this form I will be able to gain feedback on the feasibility of the design and the overall idea with regard to the certain design parameters I set myself.
These are that the structure must be,
• Cheap to build
• Quick to produce
• Be able to be built by low skilled labour
• Resistant to seismic loads
• Last for at least 2 years
• Span at least 2 floors and comfortably house a family

From my research so far I was able to calculate that it would take a total for 88 hours of labour and that it would cost roughly £2858 to make a single house.

I would now like to ask a series of questions to gain your insite into the feasibility of the design
