Thanks for your interest in participating in the activities related to the recently-funded Planning Grant (NSF Award #2228095), From Classroom to Career: Building a Culture of Access for Geoscientists with Disabilities, funded through the NSF Cultural Transformation in the Geoscience Community initiative. This grant explores the experiences of disabled geoscientists in the workforce and in higher education, with the goal of explicitly identifying barriers for participation in geoscience professions by scientists with disabilities, and developing potential solutions to some of these barriers. The grant will officially begin in January 2023, and will have multiple community-participatory data-gathering phases including a series of focus groups, a nation-wide survey to collect experiences of disabled geoscientists, and a hybrid workshop in 2024 to transform the results of the focus groups and surveys into future actions for changes.
We will be recruiting folks to participate in research-related activities throughout 2023. If you are interested in being contacted when participation opportunities arise, or just to hear more about the project as it progresses, please leave your information below. The information collected in this form will be kept confidential and your contact information will only be used to contact you about participation opportunities for research activities related to this grant and project. All information will be deleted at the completion of the research activities, and if you would like your information removed at any time prior to this, please reach out to the research team. Information provided in this form will not be used as data in the research study, and will only be used to contact interested individuals about participation opportunities as they arise throughout the coming year.
