CALL FOR PROPOSALS: Seed Training Workshops
Since 2013, The Bauta Family Initiative on Canadian Seed Security has been supporting Atlantic Canadian farmers to learn about on-farm seed crop production through webinars, field days, and workshops.

This year, we're inviting farmer educators and seed mentors to help expand our network of engaged growers by designing and delivering seed saving workshops in their communities. This call for proposals is for seed saving farmers who have knowledge to share, and who are keen to develop their presentation/facilitation skills.

Workshops should be designed at the beginner-intermediate level to appeal to aspiring/currently operating farmers who are new to seed saving and want to increase their skills. Workshops should take place between February 2020 and March 2021. They should be 2 - 5 hours, depending on content and audience, and can take place on-farm or at a community venue. Workshop leaders should aim for attendance of 8 - 15 participants.

Workshop leaders will be expected to:
--- Determine the time, place, and length of their workshop and make arrangements
--- Promote the workshop through their networks
--- Design and deliver workshop content with support from the Regional Coordinator
--- Liaise with the Program Coordinator on workshop administration
--- Attend a free training session (in person or via web)

The Regional Coordinator will:
--- Provide a free training session to all workshop leaders, and other supports as needed
--- Promote workshops locally and regionally
--- Provide materials (registration platform, contact sign-up sheet, program materials to distribute, PowerPoint templates, evaluation forms, etc.)
--- Issue contracts and payments to leaders and vendors as necessary
--- Review workshop content and provide feedback if desired
--- Attend training in person if possible
