FRESHMAN PLACEMENT TEST REGISTRATION - Spring 2021
Congratulations on your acceptance to NJIT for Spring 2021! The Office of Placement Testing is excited that you will be joining us! Our goal is to make sure you are placed in the courses that are commensurate to your level of preparation and career goals.

Due to the precautions being taken by NJIT because of the Coronavirus, you will be taking the test remotely (from your home).

You are required to take both the Math and English placement test unless you satisfy the criteria for exemption(*Official AP score report must be submitted to NJIT's Registrar's Office and official college transcripts must be submitted to Admissions as soon as possible).

It is strongly recommended that you prepare for the math placement test by reviewing the various topics/materials and sample test accessible on the NJIT Placement Testing website at https://www.njit.edu/studentsuccess/test.

You will receive an email with your username/password to login into the test and step by step instructions prior to your test date.

Students who require accommodations for testing should not fill out this registration form but immediately contact Ms. Chantonette Lyles in the Office of Accessibility Resources and Services (OARS) at: chantonette.lyles@njit.edu or oars@njit.edu.

Academic Integrity is essential to the level of integrity required within the university and assures students work is being judged fairly according to their knowledge and skills.

The Office of Placement Testing has highlighted behaviors defined within the policy for your review and consent prior to you taking the Online Math Placement Test.

Academic Dishonesty - Cheating is defined as:

•Intentionally using, providing or attempting to use or provide unauthorized assistance, materials, information or study aids during the placement test.

•Using or possessing any material not expressly permitted during an exam, such as notes, books, calculators.

•Using electronic devices such as cell phones, watches, digital cameras, PDF’s, data storage devices, or other electronic devices unless expressly permitted.

•Using internet to access calculators or any other website other than testing site to obtain information to assist with answers during the test.

•Having someone else take the test for you or asking someone for answers to the test.

•Intentionally or knowingly helping or attempting to help another person commit an act of academic dishonesty.

•Working with others while taking the placement test.

•Taking the placement test for someone else.

•Offering answers or information related to the placement test.
I have read the behaviors defined above and agree that I will not participate in any activity that violates the Honor code.  Dishonesty, while taking this exam, may result in being placed in a course not commensurate to me knowledge and skills risking my success in the course.
