Decide which office you want to run for. Read the job description carefully and become familiar with its responsibilities and obligations.
ALL OFFICES:
-All officers will be representatives of MMHS 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and must act as such.
-Officers are required to attend ALL meetings unless leave has been requested and granted prior to the meeting by either the advisor or the president.
-Officers that visit businesses (potential prom or fundraising locations) are expected to dress professional and (when appropriate) wear the class shirt.
- The elected President will need to represent their class on the ASB Executive Council.
PRESIDENT
Presides over all Class Council meetings. Assigns committees along with the advisor and acts as the liaison between the class and ASB. Oversees the functioning of the council and ensures the follow-through of all assignments given to committees and council members. Actively recruits participants for all council fundraising activities. Must enroll in the Student Government course (ASB class).
VICE PRESIDENT
Assumes the President’s role in his/her absence. Acts as assistant to the Treasurer; Assigns committees along with the class President; Acts as the President’s right hand person; Actively recruits participants for all council fundraising activities. Serves on the ASB Executive Council when schedule permits.
SECRETARY
Records and distributes minutes of the weekly council business meetings. Make copies of the forms or lists to be distributed to the council of fundraising participants. Maintains contact information, schedules, and a general calendar. Ensure up to date information for the advisor. Actively recruits participants for all council fundraising activities.
TREASURER
Keeps a running total of all class council’s income and expenses. Assists the advisor with checking out and collecting of fundraising materials and monies. Assists the advisor with deposits and expenditure reports. Actively recruits participants for all council fundraising activities.
THIS WILL BE YOUR FIRST PRIORITY. If you cannot fulfill your duties due to conflicts with other extracurricular activities the advisor will remove you from the council and appoint a replacement. Causes of dismissal may include, but are not limited to:
Lack of attendance (school and/ meetings)
Neglect of duties
Misrepresentation
Drop in GPA or citizenship
Lack of school/class spirit
Any other cause outlined in the student handbook, club constitution, or election packet
