Help inform CA wildfire policies: Participate in a Fire-Adapted Community Study

We need your help to provide insights on your experience becoming a fire-adapted community, especially at your residence. San José State University researchers are seeking participants to discuss their diverse experiences, innovations, and struggles with mitigating wildfire risk.

If selected, residents get a $50 Amazon gift card after students evaluate your property and interview you. These can be done on the same day or separate visits in Summer 2023.

1. Evaluations: No need to tidy up for us! It is important that you prepare for the fire season in your planned manner and not let our visit influence your actions. Evaluations may take between 1-2 hours, but will not require resident attention.

2. Interviews: We are curious about your experiences navigating wildfire risk mitigation on private property. We want to learn about what is going well and what challenges remain when you address wildfire risk. Interviews take 20-60 minutes and can occur in-person or via Zoom.
