SALSA Conference: Activism in the Law
Activism in the Law with South Asian Law Students Association (SALSA) will be a two-day event at Penn Law (3501 Sansom St, Philadelphia, PA 19104):

Panels:* Sunday, 01/22/23 from 9:00AM-2:00PM in Fitts Auditorium (Golkin 100)
  • 9:00 AM – 9:50AM: Check-in & Breakfast
  • 9:50 AM – 10:00 AM: Opening Remarks
  • 10 AM – 10:30 AM: Keynote Speech by Moazzam Begg (Held in extrajudicial detention by the US government in the Bagram Theater Internment Facility and the Guantanamo Bay detainment camp for about three years)
  • 10:30 AM – 11:30 AM: Hate Crime & Civil Rights Panel (Panelists: Asad Dandia, Manohar ‘Mano’ Raju, Anil Mujumdar, and Komal Kaur Chohan)
  • 11:30 AM – 12:30 PM: Lunch
  • 12:30 PM – 1:15 PM: Reproductive Justice & Women’s Right Panel (Panelists: Sital Kalantry and Rangita de Silva de Alwis)
  • 1:15 PM – 2 PM: Career Panel (Panelists: Anu Thomas, Shahana Hanif, Jasmeet Kaur Ahuja, and Sabrina Minhas)
  • *Panels and/or speakers are subject to change.
This program has been approved for 2.0 Substantive CLE credits for Pennsylvania lawyers. CLE credit may be available in other jurisdictions as well. Attendees seeking CLE credit must register for CLE credit and make a payment via the online CLE registration link in the amount of $80.00 ($40.00 public interest/non-profit attorneys). In order to receive the appropriate amount of credit, passcodes provided throughout the program must be noted in your evaluation form.
