State Youth Referee Administrator & State Referee Committee Chair Nomination Form
In 2019, the positions of State Director of Assignment and State Director of Instruction became open. The open positions were made public in an effort to create transparency and provide all qualified individuals the opportunity to apply for them. The State Referee Committee will continue upon this successful process for all future open positions. The terms, per the Georgia Soccer Bylaws, are two years.

The terms for both the State Youth Referee Administrator and State Referee Committee Chair will expire in February 2020.

Please use this form for nominations for either position. You may nominate yourself. The current SYRA and SRC Chair are also eligible for renomination to these positions.

Before submitting any nominations, please review the State Referee Committee page and review the minimum required roles and responsibilities for both positions to ensure you are submitting a qualified candidate.

Qualified candidates should be long serving U.S. Soccer referees, preferably with professional experience as a State or National Referee. Additional experience as an instructor, assessor, or assignor is preferred.

SRC Chair nominees should have extensive knowledge of Georgia Soccer bylaws and policies, as well as U.S. Soccer bylaws and policies.

SYRA nominees should have extensive instructor and assessor experience, and a keen desire to work in person at the Grassroots level with referees, assignors, and mentors. Additionally the position will require routine travel throughout the state to accomplish this mission.

Both positions are unpaid and voluntary.

All nominees should also submit a referee related resume to the State Referee Administrator at gasra@georgiasoccer.org. If you are submitting someone else a nominee, please advise them of this requirement.

The final date to submit a nominee and resume will be January 31st, 2020. Per the Georgia Soccer bylaws, the State Referee Committee will provide recommendations to the Georgia Soccer President and Vice President - Youth following the Annual General Meeting on February 1st, 2020, and before the Board of Directors meeting scheduled for February 24th, 2020.

9.2.8.2 The President, based on a recommendation of the State Referee Committee (SRC), shall appoint the chair of the committee with the approval of the Board of Directors. The SRC Chairperson shall be appointed for a specified two (2) year term and may be reappointed. A specific SRC Chairperson may serve as a member of the Board of Directors for only four (4) consecutive years

9.2.8.4 The Vice President-Youth, based on a recommendation of the SRC, will appoint, with the approval of the Board of Directors, the State Youth Referee Administrator (SYRA) to the Committee. The SYRA shall be appointed for a specified two (2) year term and may be reappointed. The SYRA may be a member of the State Board, but shall not be the President or Executive Director of the State Association. A specific SYRA may serve as a member of the Board of Directors for only four (4) years.
