Mindful Coping
The Mindful Coping Workshop aims to increase awareness of our mind and body, gain understanding of our experiences, and help us move our lives in a more fulfilling direction. We will use experiential exercises, conceptual tools of mindfulness, and journaling throughout the sessions to help provide a variety of tools for you to cope with life stress. Participation in all 3 sessions is strongly recommended as it will allow you to gain a complete experience which helps develop a thorough understanding of mindful coping tools.
Wise Mind
Wise Mind will provide you with skills to recognize and manage strong emotions you may be experiencing. This workshop stems from the concepts of Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), focusing on Core Mindfulness, Distress Tolerance, and Emotion Regulation. Students report the most benefit from this workshop comes from practice of the exercises in between sessions and after the group has ended. The purpose of the Wise Mind workshop is not designed to get rid of unpleasant emotions. Although emotions can be occasionally unpleasant and/or difficult, they can actually be helpful and motivating. Our hope is that this 3-session series can provide you with a starting point from which to integrate these skills into your daily life.
