Natural Building Workshop: Learn How to Build a Cob House - Enrollment Form
Join us as we build a 100 sq ft tiny house at Foxhollow Farm using cob, slip straw, and cob bale techniques. You will leave with the skills needed to create a cob house from the ground up; We will start with making cob from natural materials, then build the structure bit by bit, add windows and doors, then create artistic touches, and finish with an earthen plaster. We will go over each step (including the foundation) and offer support and answer questions as they arise. There will be an opportunity to experience creating the roof and earthen floor after the 5 day workshop, for those interested.

You don't need any building or carpentry experiencing to have a blast at this workshop. It is for all who love the earth and love playing in the mud.
I do this work to better the community. The spaces I create are for everyone (please contact me if you have accessibility accommodation needs), and respecting others is the only requirement for joining. :)

ABOUT YOUR TEACHER:
Hello, my name is Xander Sun. I learned cob in Oregon, and after my first workshop, I was hooked! I deepened my education by interning with my teacher, building 3 more cob houses. I have led & co-led several workshops, and  I am so excited to share it with the community here in Kentucky.

I am deeply passionate about natural building; It is a magical experience to work with a community to build an earthen art piece that will be lived in and cherished. Cob is one of the oldest, most sustainable forms of architecture.

I love playing in & with the nature. If you do too, this workshop will be a blast!
