TAG 2020-21 will delve into Art & Activism, the prominent issues of our times, and artists have used art in protest and social justice movements. It is undebatable that our world is changing and it is the current youth who will live out the consequences of humanity’s impact on our society. How do we work together to not only create awareness but to transform our communal practices for an empathetic future? What role does/can art have in these urgent and dynamic changes?

1--Make connections between Contemporary Art, and ways of investigating and knowing the world around us.
2--Practice research and acquire knowledge of social concerns as a way to inform our art-making practices.
3--Civic Participation – With the arts as a catalyst for civic engagement participants will comprehend the difference between being passive bystanders and consumers of entertainment, to promoting and engaging in contemporary culture as agents of change.
4--Become comfortable with the creative process, learning to both trust our ideas and to make critical choices.
5--Practice vocalizing ideas around art and creativity, as a way to analyze other’s work and as a way to represent our own creations.
