Prospective/Incoming Music Students Audition Form (Fall 2024)
This form should only be used by prospective/incoming students. Students already enrolled as a music major at CSUSB in the BA/Pre-BM tracks who wish to enter the BM program should use this form instead.

Thank you for your interest in the Department of Music at California State University, San Bernardino! The department currently offers two degree programs: the general Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Music, and the selective Bachelor of Music (BM) with concentrations in Performance and in Music Education Pre-Certification. Prospective students interested in starting the program in Fall 2024 should use this form to submit your interest in scheduling a placement audition. The form is due January 15th, 2024, and shortly afterwards, we will contact you to confirm your audition date and time. Note that admission to the Bachelor of Music concentrations is selective, with additional application requirements. If you are applying for the BM program, you will also be required to submit a personal essay and a copy of your latest unofficial academic transcripts of your latest level of education. You should prepare by uploading these documents to a Google Drive or Dropbox folder, and be ready to share their links at end of this form.

Applicants for the Bachelor of Music degree and/or consideration for a music department scholarship are required to submit a personal essay. The essay should contain between 600 and 1000 words (two to three pages), and detail an applicant's prior experience and achievements in music, willingness to commit to the rigor of a professional program, and future professional aspirations. The essay must document a well-developed ability to communicate in written form, experience and achievements that suggest exceptional talent, and professional aspirations and commitment consistent with the stated purpose of the BM degree.
