Julie Livingston, NYU Professor of Social and Cultural Analysis and History, will be presenting her work, titled "Self-Devouring Growth." In this project, she questions the common assumption that economic growth is a necessary basis of well-being, tracing out the linked collateral environmental effects of relentless growth through the example of southern Africa.
