Optimism, via gratitude, has been shown to lower blood pressure, improve sleep and have greater feelings of appreciation toward others. 
For one day (or more!) over this next couple weeks, pratice "anticipated gratitude." In the evening, think of one thing that is happening tomorrow and write down your gratitude below, enjoy these anticipated good feelings for at least 10 seconds

Expressing gratitude increases Oxytocin, the "love hormone." Gratitude increases satisfaction with life, which in turn increases Oxytocin. Sometime over the next 2 weeks when in a difficult sitation, CHOOSE to help someone else. Write your experience with this below, and savor these good feelings for at least 10 seconds *

Gratitude lowers problem internalizing, allowing you to worry less. Worry increases Cortisol, the negative stress hormone. Watch this video for a pratical way of avoiding worry and continue in the queston below:
You may have heard a version of this story called "We'll see" where the farmer responds with "we'll see." Whichever version you know (We'll see or Maybe), the result is the same--allowing space between what happens and how you react to it. What sitation do you have in your life where you can sustitute "we'll see" or "maybe" for "Oh No!" Please share your situation below, and the effects of reacting in a "we'll see" way. Spend at least 10 seconds experiencing how this reaction makes you feel in both your body and you mind.
