Buchanan Park Ladies Recreational Softball League is committed to promoting fair and enjoyable recreational sport for its members including players, coaches, volunteers and umpires. All members are expected to demonstrate basic respect for the dignity and rights of others and the league has zero tolerance of physical or psychological abuse/bullying; lack of respect for Buchanan Park property and/or the property of others. The League is recreational, and the ultimate goal is to have some fun competition on the diamonds. We always want to foster a safe and fun environment for all people and our league is committed to creating a diverse environment for those over the age of 21. All members are welcome in our league without regard to race, color, religion, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, national origin, genetics, or disability. We are committed to complying with fair practices for all participants in our league. The Buchannan League has a mix of genders that fall all along the spectrum. Never assume someone’s gender or preferred pronoun despite what you believe to be clear expression of one gender over another. The Buchannan Park League asks of you to show a commitment to creating a safe, positive and welcoming space and showing respect and courtesy to every other participant in your behaviour and language.

This rating helps create balanced teams which makes for a fun season! Please be honest as these ratings help determine the fairness of balanced teams. Thanks! *

#1: This is a player that can Consistently : Catch a fly ball, pop fly, ground ball; That can throw well, hard and accurately, That can hit and run well; that has a good knowledge of what to do during the game; shows great athleticism

#2: This is a player that is possibly lacking something in category #1 through experience or has not the consistency to be rated a #1

#3: This is a player who : Is aggressive and not afraid of the ball; generally makes contact with the ball when up to bat at the plate

#4: This is a player who gives GOOD EFFORT but is NOT overly skilled due to physical ability or experience

#5: This is a player who is new to softball, or lacks the basic skills but wants to play and is willing to learn :)

Softball Fees: Please indicate how you would like to pay the required Registration Fee: After Oct. 1, 2023 the fee is $110 for the 2024 Season *

To complete your application and secure a spot on a team for Summer 2024 we require a non-refundable league preregistration fee. This fee helps our Buchanan Park Ladies Recreational Softball League pay for weekly lining of the diamonds, umpires for each game, our seasonal admin fee and insurance to the City of Hamilton and equipment. You can either do an e-transfer to buchananparkladies@gmail.com or provide a cheque.

We are a league run based on volunteers! We need some extra help! If you are willing to volunteer and assist, please check the box below. We could use help with a variety of duties including: social media, organizing tournaments, socials, sponsorship, fundraising, registration, treasurer, note-taking, and more! We have 5 dedicated volunteer committee members who could use some help and support! As little or as much as you might like to be involved, we would like to hear from you :)
