Last week, the results of the EU Elections 2024 came in. The parliament has made a turn towards the far-right. This has huge implications for the state of the EU. It is crucial that politicians understand their duty to protect everyone in Europe, regardless of their gender, sexual orientation, ethnicity, or background. This means addressing the climate and biodiversity crisis, safeguarding our democratic rights, and maintaining a Union where all people can live healthily and freely. Now more than ever, we should stand united as citizens and activists.
In this webinar, we will reflect upon the results, using the CAN EU Scoreboard and the WECF Ecofeminist Scorecard as a starting point. Besides, we will discuss how to respond to the normalization of the far right in the EU. We will talk to:
- Joe Inwood, EU Campaigner at Climate Action Network (CAN)
- Melano Tskhvaradze, WECF Georgia: consequences for candidate countries such as Georgia
- Renske Wienen, Campaigner at DeGoedeZaak
