Repertoire - Beethoven - Symphony No. 9
The Allentown Symphony Chorus is a professional level chorus that will be featured at least once a year with the Allentown Symphony Orchestra. This chorus is designed to not compete with other Lehigh Valley choruses and will only rehearse six weeks prior to each featured concert. The Allentown Symphony Chorus will be comprised of approximately 50 voices. There will be special auditions for paid Section Leaders and Assistant Section Leaders. There will also be auditions for positions in a Scholarship Quartet, which will be open to local college students upon teacher recommendation.
All auditions will be held at Miller Symphony Hall: 23 N. 6th Street Allentown, PA 18101. They will take place on the third level of symphony hall inside the Rodale Room.
Chorus members will provide their own black folder for music, along with concert attire. Sheet music will be provided by the ASA in advance of the first rehearsal. Under certain circumstances, we may require our singers to purchase their own music. If this happens, it will be communicated to all singers well in advance.
Parking for all chorus members is your financial responsibility during auditions, rehearsals and performances. There are several parking garages nearby along with metered street parking. Always make sure to arrive early to allow time for parking.
